Our Story
Back in 2016, we couldn’t help but notice a problem in the food industry – there were all kinds of interesting, new, and functional ingredients being produced around the world, yet they didn't appear on food labels in North America. At the same time, there was a desire for ‘clean-label’ ingredients - consumers wanted to be able to understand (and pronounce) the ingredients in their food. The industry still relied on old, chemical additives that performed key functions in food. Something needed to change.

And so, Think Ingredients was born with one goal: to help clean up labels without compromising on quality, shelf life, nutrition or taste. We believe less is more and strive to keep ingredient lists simple. We understand ingredients and show our customers exactly how to use them.
In our quest for knowledge in ingredient applications, our latest venture was created. In 2021, Think New Foods, our sister company in Burlington, Ontario, was founded to be the manufacturing arm of our ingredient know-how. With everything we had learned in the formulation of great food products, it just made sense to literally, put it all together – from baking mixes, functional ingredient blends, and standardized clean-label preservatives. Our SQF-certified dry blending facility combines ingredients together to allow our industrial food customers to focus on what they do best – turning ingredients into delicious, high quality foods.
It's our goal to continue to challenge the way things are done and keep integrating along the ingredient supply chain so we can reliably bring the latest innovations to our customers.
